with thick clouds of "fear."

All of his works have the theme of love, and "Philosopher King" also has the themes of love and faith. His grandfather worked at Taiwan Government-general during the war. His mother was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and came to Japan after the war.

Taiwan had been completely banished from the center stage of history since withdrawal from the United Nations in 1972. Even though Taiwan became rich economically, their voices couldn’t be listened by other countries because other countries considered China which claim the possession of Taiwan with military force. However, the birth of President Trump is changing this situation dramatically. Friendly calling between President Taiwan and President America that has never imaged for last 40 years. It seems like the end bell of world murder Taiwan with silence.

At the time when Taiwanese voice had no power, Chinese National Party's dictatorship was changed into democracy without any blood by the father of Taiwan democratization, Lee TengHui. He is “Philosopher King” who think, nurture thought and act with its thought.

Nowadays, Taiwan begins to attract attention. The regent Taiwanese achiever of Quiet Revolution, Lee TengHui. His spirit will be a hint and a gospel for people all over the world who seeks democracy through this film at these days. And it will be able to give identity for all Taiwanese people and former religious country, Japan. In addition, viewing Lee life as a human being, his distress, faith and thought will give great hints to modern people.

Lee TengHui received Japanese education until 1945, so it's not too much to say that Japanese education established Lee’s achievement. Taiwan and Lee cannot be told without Japanase education. Director of “Philosopher King ~Lee TengHui’s Dialogue~”, Hideto Sonoda has the best family lineage for making this film. His mother is Taiwanese born Japanese. And his grandfather is an educator who did his best for progress of Taiwan. It is clear that Sonoda is the best director to tell Lee through this film.
